You're trusting us with details about your child. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.

Who provides the information

Hollybound is used by parents and gift-givers, not by children. You tell us about your child, and you decide what to share. Children never create accounts or talk to anyone through Hollybound.

What we collect

  • Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
  • About your child: first name, age, how the story should refer to them, country, their interests and favorite things, their Christmas wish, proud moments, and any message you write.
  • The rooms you choose for the scavenger hunt (for example “kitchen”). Never your address.
  • A photo of your child, only if you choose to add one with Plus.
  • Payment confirmation from Whop. We never see or store your card details.

How we use it

Only to create, check and deliver your child's gift, and to let you download it again later. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't make anything about your child public.

We use your child's country only to match spelling, the season and printable page size. We never ask for or use your child's location.

Photos

  • Photos are optional and only offered with Plus. The gift is complete without one.
  • Your browser shrinks the photo before upload, which also removes hidden location data from the camera.
  • It is stored privately. It never has a public link and is never shown to anyone else.
  • It is used only to create your child's illustrations, which means sending it to our image service for that purpose.
  • It is deleted automatically 30 days after your gift is delivered. You can delete it sooner at any time.

Services that help us

We share the minimum needed with a small number of providers who process it on our behalf:

  • Supabase: secure database, sign-in and private file storage.
  • Whop: payments.
  • Anthropic and OpenAI: writing the story content and creating illustrations.
  • Brevo: sending order emails.
  • Sentry: finding and fixing errors. PostHog: understanding which pages help parents. Neither receives your child's details.

How long we keep it

We keep your child's details and finished gift for as long as you have an account, so you can download it again. Photos are the exception and are deleted 30 days after delivery.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you or your child. Email hello@hollybound.example and we'll take care of it.
